I’m sure the suspence is killing you

Well, I’m sure you’re all DYING to know how my appointment went on Saturday. And… in the end… it was a big disappointment. I didn’t go through with the Brazilian. The aesthetician, when I took my coat off, gasped “YOU’RE PREGNANT!” and I confirmed that, yes, I was in fact pregnant and had told the receptionist when I booked but apparently the receptionist hadn’t made a note on the booking gah gah blah. So I asked if it was going to be a problem and she said she’d had LOTS of experience with pregnant women but that she strongly recommended that I didn’t do the Brazilian while pregnant because you have extra blood flow and your pain tolerance is lower and the “area” is more sensitive than usual (which leads me to my next question: why oh why would your pain tolerance be lowered during pregnancy when you have to go through labour the most excrutiatingly painful experience ever? Is that just mother nature being mean? And another question I’ve been pondering: there’s all this concern over babies and “strangulation hazards” and don’t have blinds near a baby’s crib because AAHHH STRANGULATION HAZARD but every baby seems to be born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his/her neck and it makes you wonder why biology stuck babies in the womb with the biggest strangulation hazard of all? Huh.) anyway, she just said if you’re in lots of pain and don’t tolerate the pain well and get all stressed out it’s not good for the baby so I said, “Fine, just do me up with a regular bikini wax then” and we left it at that. Ta DAAAAAAA!

I also didn’t take a belly pic for no good reason. We didn’t do a whole lot yesterday so don’t have a valid excuse. We did get Julian a long-overdue haircut so I’ll post a pic of that instead when I’ve downloaded the pictures.

  1. So does that mean that giving birth really doesn’t hurt that much, you are just ‘extra sensitive’ down there and are wimpy cause your pain threshold is lower?

  2. I think so. It’s really not even that big a deal. Women just like to complain :o )

  3. Oh thank Gawd. I was having anxiety about your brazilian wax. Not that I think about your parts all day…but when I thought of you I thought about….your…..wax….and it was giving me chills….NOT “chills” I mean….at the thought of your going through with something so painful…ugh. I’ll shut up now.
